FOCUS invites you!
Hi. We are the Fellowship of Overseas Christian University Students (FOCUS). We are a La Trobe University student club. FOCUS members come from a variety of different countries and cultures.
We invite you to join us in a fellowship of friendship, love, fun and most importantly, learning about Jesus.
Each Friday we meet together to share a meal, sing some songs, and learn about Jesus. We also organise social events. Last year, these included surfing, visiting the Yarra Valley, BBQs, sport’s days and Yum Cha.
This semester we are running two short courses on Friday nights (starting February 27):
Discovering Jesus
This course will investigate the life and teachings of Jesus – a man who changed the world. It is a good course for people who do not know much about Jesus or the Bible. This year we are studying the gospel of John in English and Mandarin.
Exploring a relationship with Jesus
This course will investigate how to develop a relationship with Jesus and live for him. It is suitable for Christians or people who are familiar with Christianity and the Bible. This year we are studying the stories of Abraham and his family from Genesis 12-50 in first semester, and Moses and the Ten Commandments in second semester from the book of Exodus. These studies will be in English and Mandarin.
